The market needs your value.  You need customers.  And you need

to create the conditions that support your finding more clients.

You are the Savvy Entrepreneur.

The Savvy Entrepreneur is the business person who is in the know and who values the art of “keeping it simple”, “making it relevant”, and delivering products and services with quality and a “touch of class”. It is about the sole proprietor who wears many hats and makes canny decisions about sales, marketing and customer service. It is about the small businessperson whose approach to business and life is more holistic than compartmentalized. The Savvy Entrepreneur is in the know, in the spirit and in all ways, prosperous.

Start with a website, add a blog, enrich the site with photos, and articles.  How about creating an e-newsletter about the things that are important to your target market or contacting your prospects and making a sales presentation or proposal.  These are the types of tools that become the automatic sales force of the Savvy Entrepreneur.

  • create a website which includes a description of your new business, some industry information, helpful hints or tips, your resume, and a signup page for a related industry report

  • make a list of 100 people you know

  • divide that list into groups: people who know you well; those who would say, "Who? Oh! yeah!"; those who would say, "I don't really remember you but I remember the event/circumstances"

  • telephone each person, explaining your service

  • ask if they need your service of if they can refer persons who do

  • tell them about your website and your newsletter

  • ask them what industry news they would be interested in hearing about on a regular basis, and ask if you can put them on my e-mail list for occasional industry reports

  • follow-up with the referrals (follow steps 4 thru 7)
